I just finished watching Gokusen 2 yesterday and just started to watch Nobuta wo Produce today. Both J-dramas have Kamenaishi Kazuya in them. No, he's not my new favourite J-idol. I just like his acting and the character he's acting.
In Gokusen 2, I can understand he's feelings somehow. Being a deliquent and all, he doesn't trust teachers. Thinking that teachers will betray him. True, you can't really trust teachers expecially since there's a whole lot of useless teachers now. But, in the end he not only found out the meaning of a true teacher but also the meaning of true friends. A teacher and his friends that he can trust and will never betray him.
Whereas in Nobuta wo Produce, he plays the role of Shiji. A guy who's popular with his friends and classmates but in reality, he hates hanging out with them. And in his theory "It's all what the people in school think" is actually quite true. Nowadays other people like to judge.
"Oh, did you have a hair cut? That's so ugly."
"Eh, don't you think that she has a terrible fashion sense?"
"Eh... How do you think you are? Heh?"
And so, you need to act nice and sort of play a double character. Like being nice and say "Hai! Ok!" then smile even if you don't want to. If this really the rules of being someone popular?
If you've watched episode 3 of Nobuta wo Produce. I can tell you, I've experience the same thing as him. Suddenly being pulled into doing this and that without given the chance to say "No."
Be too weird or mean, you'll be disliked by everybody.
Be nice and good, you'll be manipulated easily.
I can't wait to finish watching Nobuta wo Produce, I'm sure it'll certainly give me a good lesson.
